INTERIOR DESIGN
Gimme Toys is a unique, interactive toy store that opened in Frisco, Texas, in May 2023 as part of the new Omni PGA Frisco Resort. Omni Hotels & Resorts paired with First Tee, a non-profit organization, and tasked INK + ORO to create an environment is not only fun but also engaging, encouraging kids to play and explore while they shop for their favorite toys. The design must be visually appealing and imaginative, capturing the attention and imagination of young customers.
Pulling inspiration from the outside in, customers step inside a whimsical and playful atmosphere with an installation of acrylic spheres overhead resembling balloons floating in the clouds and exposed Edison bulbs poking through as raindrops.
Emphasizing the connection to golfing in Gimme Toys, a corner of the store is highlighted in green channeled felt walls and a turf floor to house the centerpiece of the store. Working with a local fabricator, I+O designed a custom acrylic ball track system that races around the perimeter of the space and finishes in a cylindrical helix that is a unique and eye-catching feature trying to get that “hole-in-one”. By incorporating a track that goes around the perimeter of the space, kids and guests can enjoy watching the balls whiz by, adding an element of excitement and engagement to the shopping experience.

The combination of custom millwork shelves and pegboards along the store walls is an innovative design choice and provides various product display options. These versatile display options create an organized and visually appealing presentation of the toys and merchandise available in the store. The clustered circle stacked shelves in the window display add a visually captivating element to the store's exterior. This eye-catching arrangement must immediately draw the attention of passersby, enticing them to take a closer look and step inside the store.
Located behind check out, the full-height millwork for the wrapping station in Gimme Toys serves as a practical and aesthetically pleasing addition to the store's design. It not only provides a functional space for gift wrapping but also contributes to the store's overall atmosphere, making it a delightful destination for customers seeking a well-rounded and enjoyable toy shopping experience.
